 | Thigh's the Limit! This season, make no mistake, you’re going to have to decide between many beautiful boots: the bootie, the knee-length, the OTK and the well, Thigh-High! By thigh-high I mean, the Fall 2009 version that’s capturing eyes, raising brows and soon to be hitting a store near you! I hope you’ve pre-ordered!
Once relegated to Madonna, Grace Jones, side gigs, stages and poles, the new thigh-high boot has been re-crafted and re-designed for Ready-to-Wear street chic! With pleasure and temptation…and in lieu of pants, we here at The HOT Report put together our HOT list of ruff-n-tuff, thigh towering boots to take you from Catwalk to Walkway:
Chloé. Neimanmarcus.com. Kick past season pieces firmly into fall with these ultra-chic Chloé over-the-knee boots. Wear them with shorts, second-skin leggings, baggy trousers, oversized boy blazers, and silk blouses for covetable downtown style and embrace the 80’s! Tied Leather OTK Boot, Crisscross tie detail. Flat heel. $1,295.00 or the softer more feminine Chloé by Hannah MacGibbon, OTK suede boot with tie and ruffle detail.
Another favorite of the footwear privileged would be the painfully beautiful, Christian Louboutin, as expected. Net-a-Porter.com. Christian Louboutin's black suede thigh-high boots are the definitive style for fall. Wear these sensational button-fastening boots with everything day or night to make every look a style statement. $1,995.00.
Stella McCartney. Bergdorfgoodman.com. Dare to wear Stella McCartney’s black pierced faux nappa leather (yes, faux!), keeping with Stella’s interest in sustainable clothing and accessories. We love this square toe, small platform boot with stiletto heel, but only if you can truly pound the pavement in them. The wobbly need not apply! Made in Italy and stunning. $1,595.00.
And our overall favorite, Prada, offers one of the most original OTK boots around. The kinky fishing wader with an outrageously high, loose and lug style (possibly for women going back to the land for survival), is a city girls must have. Gucci–Gucci-goo went exotic with their Division OTK Platform Boot in combination black leather/patent leather and a devilish 4 1/10" heel at a devilish $2,950.00. Oh, isn’t it fun to wear boots this season?
And finally, unquestionably most creative, the genius of Kate and Laura Mulleavy at Rodarte got all wrapped-up in leather-y bondage boots by Nicholas Kirkwood. Spectacular. This Cinderella is what footwear is truly about!
