As many times as we’ve heard it…I’m sure that we can all agree that the economic downturn will not boomerang back with the flip of a switch.  Nothing stretching so wide and therapeutically affective will happen over night.  We all have either decided to spend or not to spend, to save or not to save and in many cases to ride this rollercoaster to it’s end.  And so…with fall’s new painfully beautiful fashion raising it’s finely arched brow, there are serious decisions to be made!

The decadence of fall and winter fashion is upon us - from bold bejeweled and bewitching BLACK being the “new” black to flaunting strong shoulders and sharp tailoring and one-shoulder effects…you too will have to decide whether or not to bare or not bare arms.  Think Giorgio Armani shoulder-padded power suits or asymmetrical sheath dresses (thank you First Lady.)  This season, shoulders are trés important!

Rewind to the 80’s power babes, peplums and poufs.  Leather, leather and more leather in many incarnations:  studded, zipped, ruff and tuff chic and out-and-out pretty.  Black leather pants, leggings, aviator, bomber and motorbike jackets, gloves in studs and over-the-knee boots are HOT!  Over black?  Well, don’t fret!  Get yourself into a camel hair coat (Tommy Hilfiger) or a Red suit (Prada), but remember it’s all about tailoring (or black!)

Classics survived the recession (as always!)  Herringbone, houndstooth, tweed and plaid patterns are far and wide.  Namely, houndstooth is the new it-check.  Fashion it in sharp and sexy figure hugging shapes and jaunty capes and click your high heels when you walk into the office.  You are smashing darling!  And if that’s not enough, beautiful bowed blouses are also back and work effortlessly into your current closets.  Don’t forget to shop your closets!

And what on earth would fall and winter be without FUR?  Whether you’re fur-real or faux…winter is your season to warm-up from head to toe.  Fur gloves at Prada, arm-warmers at Karan, shoes, sleeves, skirts and dresses…and fur coats in explosive colors at Kors. You have to admit, the runways may be filled with fashion in denial, but this is one heck of a rollercoaster ride we’re happy to be on.  Have Fun!
