C’mon Get Happy!

The HOT List: Spring - Summer 2010

Why are we so hot for spring clothes when in so many places it’s so cold outside?  For one thing, these styles are already in stores, and if you snooze, you’ll probably lose!  Spring fashion is like a breath of fresh air.  Off come the heavy layers, away go the somber shades and back to storage go the boots, (well for some of us,) along with cashmere and fur.

It’s a new year and it’s certainly time for a dynamic new attitude!  The New Year brings a fresh breeze of optimism and a burst of rejuvenation in the shape of clean, pretty designs in arctic whites.  Of course, white (cotton) is right!  Shapes are light and airy, with loads of lace details, plenty of flounce and a lot more leg. The LBD is replaced by the airy-simplicity of the little white dress (with emphasis on little!) Draping, ruffling, ruching, whooshing, bunching, scrunching and pleating are all a new interest. Color has met it’s match this Spring with earthy extras in ever-so-chic shades of beige and brown.  Lighten your mood…think of the new neutral trend as your daily latte.  It’s frothy, sweet, rich and creamy or head for the urban jungle in Proenza, Rodarte, Giambattista or Tracy Reese; where tribal prints were unleashed to playGoth, Military, Utility, Sport and DenimDelight! Let’s just say, tough clothes for tough times?  Aha!  But c’mon, why wallow in it?
