The HOT List: Spring - Summer 2010

What is it with women and flip and flops? When did a slab of rubber with a piece of plastic fixed between your two toes become a wardrobe staple beyond the beach?  And by all means, tell me, when did these iconic symbols of leisure time become acceptable wares in an office environment? 

Could it be that in times of crisis we feel the need to shake off the gloom, at least outwardly, while at the same time keeping our feet firmly on the ground?

Never has it been so cool, so uber-hip to be besotted with hope. I think the cover of the March issue of Vanity Fair says it best when they quote Napoleon Bonaparte as saying, “A leader is a dealer in hope.” Mr.

It’s that time of year again. Time for jingle bells and shooting stars, candle-glow and mistletoe, snow glistening in the night and cozy evenings in front of the fire with friends and family. The HOT Report is committed to everything we long for in the cold and dark of winter: warmth, sparkle and benevolence! Give, give, give!

If we all could do “it” more often we would absolutely travel more. You see, not necessarily for business since many of us (including myself) spend an abundant amount of time traveling for business. The must accept work itinerary that your boss and your trusty assistant work out for you.

For the record, it is standard for us to write about premier designer collections.

Just returning from Holiday, as many of us have, I received a call from a close friend regarding Thanksgiving Dinner. And there “it” went… summer. Just like that, I felt a sudden loss. I have to admit, it is a bit saddening to see my kids return to school, although with the exception of camp, they actually spent a large chunk of their time with me on Holiday.

We are not alone in our enthusiasm this season.
